Description (PUNO - SILLUSTANI - LAMPA – PUCARA)
We started the tour leaving Puno city to SILLUSTANI archaeological site pre-Inca and Inca, then continue the journey to the colonial town of LAMPA, after appreciating the beauty of its streets and church, we continue the journey to our main destination PUCARA famous for its stone museum, pyramid-shaped buildings which formed the city of this culture and its pottery being TORITO PUCARA (BULLS OF PUCARA) its most representative figure.
SILLUSTANI: Located 34 km from Puno city, about 40 minutes from Puno. We will Visit Differents funeral towers that rise up to 12 meters high that have belonged to pre-Inca and Inca cultures. These are located on a small peninsula surrounded by the Umayo lagoon where we can appreciate its natural beauty as well as architecture and engineering of the time.
LAMPA: Located 73 km from Puno city, also called Pink City, famous for its temple "St. Santiago Apostol" has an exact replica of the “Piedad de Miguel Angel”. In this town we also find the single most beautiful colonial bridge of Calicanto.
PUCARA: Located 61 km from Juliaca city on the road that leads to Cusco city, this pre-Columbian culture dating from 500 BC to 400 AD
Also known as The Mother Culture Of The Altiplano, this culture gave rise to later cultures as Tiahuanaco (now Bolivia) and Inca (Cusco). taking the Puma as cult animal of this culture.
PUCARA BULLS: The people of Pucara are renowned artisans (ceramists and potters) who currently exporting their handicrafts abroad not only for the meaning of the bulls of Pucara but also by the quality of the work. It is common to see almost all the ceilings of the houses of highland a couple of these Toritos symbolizing protection and prosperity of the family.
